motherhood has changed since your child became a teen
Learn how to SPIRITUALLY EMPOWER YOUR TEEN from others who have been where you are
In this area, you want to get your reader's attention by identifying with their problem.
* What is their pain?
* What are they suffering from?
* Point out their symptoms
* Do they feel this way?
* Read their minds
* Identify with struggles
Remember when parenting was easy?
  • You read a book to know how to potty train.
  • You knew all your kid's friends.
  • You could tell your child what to wear.
  • Your kid was always home and in bed before you were.
  • They never questioned going to church.
  • You could share your parenting woes with your friends.
Now you have a teen and you want them to make good choices
but you always end up fighting when you try to talk to her, and things just get worse.
You don't mean to be controlling but it's hard to let your teen make choices
you have no idea what your teen thinks about spiritual things
You are fearful of your teen choosing a different path
This is my story...
Hi, I'm Darla Trendler, mom to four kids ages 13-20. Long before my kids were born, I knew I wanted my future children to be spiritually strong.

With a house full of little kids, my husband and I started teaching them the gospel. We had a checklist of things to do.
  • Family home evening
  • Weekly church attendance
  • Scripture study
  • Obedience
We even taught the standards in the For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet before they ever entered elementary school!
We had it all figured out.
Having teenagers was going to be a breeze. Then our kids ACTUALLY started becoming teenagers.

THE RESULT?
We had obedient kids, but they weren't developing their own relationship with Jesus Christ.

We needed to change our approach to gospel teaching and scripture study. We needed a new way to view agency. Our kids needed to recognize the Holy Ghost in everyday life and have their own personal relationship with God. We wanted connection instead of coercion.

We had to do some major course correcting before our children started leaving home.
The way I taught my little kids about the gospel wasn't working with my teens. Luckily, I discovered how to fix my parenting flaw...
...the solution was to point my kids to CHRIST and let HIM be everything they needed.

Because of my experiences, I decided to bring teen experts together in one place. I created THE LATTER-DAY MOM'S GUIDE TO SPIRITUALLY EMPOWERING YOUR TEEN to help other moms just like you!
What if you could let go of worrying what other's think and just focus on your relationship with your teen?
You can Invite Your Teen to Engage in their Own Spiritual Journey

teen to christ
NO MORE
• Power struggles
Lack of connection
Poor communication
Listening to Darla on the Spiritually Minded Mom podcast has changed my life. I have gained greater confidence in myself as a mother who can be spiritually in tune with the needs of my children. I have heard Darla speak in person, and she is a woman and mother who has learned through many experiences how to follow the promptings of the spirit and help her children to become stronger and firmer in their faith in Christ. Thank you Darla for sharing your talents with us all!
- Emma Drennan
From the first time I listened to the Spiritually Minded Mom podcast, I felt connected to Darla. Her willingness to be vulnerable in order to help other moms was encouraging. Through her, I have come to realize that we all have two things in common--we all have struggles that we need help getting through and the Lord is the one who will guide us to know how to parent our children. Darla shares in a way that brings light and hope. I am so thankful that she acts on personal revelation that brings so much goodness to the lives of others.
- Audra Elkington
I used to fit the “mormon mom” mold--church, FHE, scripture study, service projects, temple trips. We joyfully did ALL THE THINGS. But as our kids became teenagers and then young adults, things changed big time. Testimonies have faltered, new paths are being forged and suddenly I felt like I didn’t belong in this community anymore. Darla showed me otherwise. She listened; she made space and is working to support ALL of us as we do the greatest work of loving our children in THEIR journey’s the way our Heavenly Parents and our Savior love us.
- Shelley Swapp
This is where you keep twisting the knife...
when they try to solve the problem, things get worse.
More obstacles rise up.

It's natural to want to protect your teen from failures and challenges. But, as you will learn in the course, you can allow your teen to make their own choices and be on their own path. Your worth as a mom isn't attached to your teen's choices. There aren't a lot of guarantees in motherhood but you'll learn in the course there is one thing you can count on--your child is going to sin (and so are you). You can't fix everything for them, but you can point them to Christ and let His atonement work in their life.
If you have younger children, they will grow to be teenagers. You don't have to be fearful of the teenage years. Every season of motherhood has challenges but you can start now to learn how to empower your child spiritually when they become a teen and you'll be ready when the teen years hit.  In addition, many of the teachings you will learn from the guest interviews apply no matter what age your child is.
You will hear many of the guest experts share throughout the course that it's never too late to start new habits and patterns in your family. Begin by having a conversation with your teen. You can say something like, "I know we've never done anything like this before, but I would like to try. Will you help me?"
You will learn in the course how to share your own struggles, listen and make time for connection with your teen. In two modules, we'll talk about how to let your teen complain in a constructive way to open up communication. You'll also get practical tips you can apply right now to help you connect with your child like questions to ask when they are facing a challenge.
Believe it or not there is a way to take away the contention. You will learn a 3-step process to help you have tough conversations that won't end in a fight and will help you strengthen your relationship with your teen.
